Headache: Tension
SYMPTOMS. Tension headaches cause dull, persistent head pain that may last
for several hours and may occur as often as daily. It may feel like there is
a tight hatband around the head.
CAUSES. This is the most common form of headache and may be caused by
eyestrain, arthritis of the neck area, an uncomfortable position of the
body, depression, anxiety, boredom, frustration and such.
TREATMENT. Consult your doctor for chronic tension headaches.
.If caused by depression, antidepressant drugs may be prescribed.
.Moist heat, massage and biofeedback techniques may be helpful.
.Rebound headaches from medication may occur from constant use of drugs.
